Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

This policy explains what data is collected and how it is used by this website (edowado.dev) and by ads-automation, a Google Ads management tool. Both are operated by Edward Hu, a freelance software engineer and marketing consultant ("I", "me").

1. This website

You can browse edowado.dev without an account. The site has no sign-up, no contact forms, and no analytics or advertising cookies. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.

  • Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process standard request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Optional soundtrack. Nothing loads from YouTube unless you press "Play soundtrack". If you do, a YouTube player loads from youtube.com, and YouTube (Google) may set cookies under the Google Privacy Policy.

2. ads-automation

ads-automation is an internal tool I use to manage and report on Google Ads accounts that I operate, or that clients have explicitly authorized me to manage. It is not offered to the public. It connects to the Google Ads API through Google OAuth.

Google user data accessed

The tool requests a single OAuth scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords (manage your Google Ads campaigns). Through it, the tool can access data in the Google Ads accounts you authorize:

  • Account identifiers and account structure (customer IDs, manager account links)
  • Campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, audiences, budgets and bidding settings
  • Performance and reporting data (impressions, clicks, cost, conversions and similar metrics)

It does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google service, and it does not collect your Google password.

How the data is used

Google Ads data is used only to provide the service the account owner asked for:

  • Pulling performance reports for the authorized accounts
  • Creating and updating campaigns, ads, keywords, budgets and bids as requested by the account owner
  • Checking account setup and connection status

Storage and security

  • The OAuth refresh token and API configuration are stored only in a local file on my own computer, which is protected by full-disk encryption. They are never uploaded to a server or shared.
  • Google Ads data is processed locally while the tool runs. It is not stored in a database or sent to any third-party service. Report exports shared with a client are kept only as long as needed for that engagement.

Sharing

Google user data is never sold, never used for advertising, never used to train AI or machine learning models, and never shared with third parties. The only exception is sharing reports with the owner of the Google Ads account they describe, or disclosure required by law.

Limited Use

ads-automation's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access and deleting data

You can revoke the tool's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page or by removing access in Google Ads (Admin, then Access and security). You can also email me to ask for your data to be deleted; I will delete stored tokens and any exported reports within 30 days.

3. Children

This website and ads-automation are not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their data.

4. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
